Reflection questions

Use the following questions to reflect on the Diversity Icebreaker experience and to plan ways to become more effective at work in the future.

Reflect on today:

  • What talents do I bring to groups?
  • How do I prefer to communicate with others?
  • Which elements of my communication style could be challenging for others?

Practical questions

Plan for tomorrow:

  • What should I change about the way I communicate and cooperate with others?
  • When do I plan to make these changes?
  • How will I know that I have succeeded?

Remember

We have all the colours...
  • The Diversity Icebreaker is NOT a personality test nor should it be used as a selection tool. It is a basis for communication, a three-way dialogue about preferences and communication styles.
  • Each individual has ALL the colours and the potential to show all the characteristics but in differing degrees. However, we have preferences and we need to reflect on how these preferences may have an impact on other people.
  • The colours show preferences and NOT competencies.

  • A preference for one colour should NOT be used to categorise others in such a way as to limit a person’s freedom to act.
